Friday night: We celebrated my FIL's birthday by going bowling! The boys had a blast! In our state, you can no longer smoke in the bowling alleys. What a treat to be able to bowl and not have your children subjected to secondhand smoke.
Saturday: The boys and I met up with my Dad and stepmom for a few minutes at the boat show, in Seattle. They live about two hours from us and we don't get to see them often, so this was a treat.
Then, we met up with my mom and went to a friend's wedding. (She is an old massage client of mine). It was a gorgeous day for a wedding. They had a Hawaiian theme with leis and luau feast.
After that, the four of us went to a Saturday evening service in Redmond. The topic is currently on worship. We learned to:
worship always-throughout the day, do a 'breath' prayer: saying a simple prayer over and over again throughout the day, under your breath.
worship (oops, can't remember the second one. I'll get back on this.)
worhip authentically-it is between you and God, no one else. He knows your heart and your intention when coming to Him in worship.
The pastor encouraged us to step out of our comfort zone and raise our worship a notch, in whatever manner we feel called. God call us to worship by singing, dancing, raising our arms, bowing down, (there are a few more I don't remember right now.)
Sunday: Church service at 9:00am. Then, I took the boys, with my friend Michelle, and went to the Puyallup Fair! We spent a good part of the day there and walked tons. The boys were amazing and were able to walk a majority of the time.
Where's DH this weekend, you might ask? This was our church's 'kick off' weekend. He is on the Worship Team and is the Youth Worship Leader. He spent
both Saturday and Sunday in rehearsal for both teams. Fortunately, this is not a typical weekend for him in terms of time commitment. He had a ton of logistics to deal with, on top of service to the youth. He said that they will have 16-20 kids this year; a huge jump over the last two years. Last year, he said he was going to divide the group into three separate groups. One would be 'rockin', one would be acoustic, and one would be traditional hymns (I think that's what he said.).
And a lot of fun while your DH was busy at church! (I can relate to that, my DH is a worship leader too)… so good that you were able to fill the weekend with fun things!
Thanks for you kind and affirming comment today on my blog!
