"Off They Go"
Bible Story
Isaiah 1:1-4, 2:8-9
Children’s Bible: Isaiah warned the people
Active Exploration
We talked about the three colors of a stoplight.
I chose the following actions:
-skip, hop, crawl, spin, flap arms, walk forward, walk backward, tiptoe
I gave the order that if I say ‘green’, they had to do the targeted action ‘quickly’,
‘yellow’=’slowly’
‘red’=’stop’
(The key idea of this was that a stoplight protects us. Isaiah was sent to serve as a ‘stoplight’ for the prople of Israel. He told them what to do.)
Letter Activity
We were introcuded to the letter ‘O’, and traced the letter on the flashcard with our fingers
Bible Activity
The boys had to follow my directions, given one at a time:
-Draw two lines from the top of the page (represents God’s voice)
-Write the letters ‘N’ and ‘O’ on the left side of the page ( assisted ‘R’ with the ‘N’)
-Draw a circle on the right side of the page (represents the stoplight)
-draw three triangles on the right side below the circle (represents the fire)
I told the story where God told the people they were sinning and needed to stop, or their city would be burned.
