We did seven days of lessons while in Maui. Since I did not take pictures and it would be a lot of time to record what we did, I have chosen not to record them here.
We are (more or less) back to our regular routine here.
Fingerplay
"One to Ten"
Bible Story
Jonah 2:10, 3:1-5, 10
Children’s Bible: Jonah preached to Ninevah and they were saved
Dramatic Play
The boys pretended they were the giant fish and their sock ball was ‘Jonah’. They "spit out" (threw) Jonah onto "dry land" (into the box.) If it landed in the box, we cheered and said, ‘yay, Jonah is in Ninevah! But, if it landed outside of the box, I would say that Jonah landed beside, out, next to, far away, close to, and near. The boys loved this activity and played it longer after I was ready to move on.
Letter Activity
I wrote the letter ‘P’ on a piece of paper. The boys placed glue on it (I assisted ‘R’), and glued popcorn kernels on it.
Bible Activity
We discussed the importance of listening and following directions, like the Ninevites did to Jonah. Each boy took a stuffed animal and gave them commands like, clap your paws, jump up and down, spin around, etc.
Music
We listened to "Jonah and the Whale"
Social/P.E.
We met up with friends and walked to our river and threw rocks.
