I had a doctor’s appointment this morning, so the boys went to my friend Liz’s house and played with her two children.
After the appointment, I called a friend of mine. She was pretty sick, so I brought her kids home to join us today! (They attend public school, but are on their mid-winter break.)

Yellow is for the bright light that shone from heaven as the angels sang about
Jesus’ birth.
I had the kids brainstorm items that were yellow. They chose: giraffe, mustard, daisy, corn, sun, tulip.
I printed graphics and cute them. The kids colored and pasted the items.
I also introduced the Spanish words: amarillo=yellow, daisy=margarita, corn=maiz, sun=el sol

A mac and cheese, peanut butter and apple lunch was enjoyed by all…
The kids played in the backyard with DH for the hour that there was no rain. After that, we took the kids home and I took my boys to martial arts. ‘R’ has been able to participate a little in class. He is still too young to fully participate yet.
We also picked up some new books from the library (see ‘Our Reading Table’).
I have decided to start incorporating some "Countdown to Easter" traditions for our family. I have a book, titled, "Family Countdown to Easter". Today, (Tuesday), is known as Shrove Tuesday, AKA, Mardi Gras!
On this day, you typically eat rich foods in anticipation of Lent. It is also known as "Pancake Tuesday", because pancake are made from "rich" ingredients. So, I made a pancake dinner!
I have updated your new blog addy 🙂 I love your dining room table…big and square…everyone can see each other and talk together 🙂
Have a wonderful week!
