Homemaker ABC’s

I just saw this on StitchNchick’s blog, and thought it was cute!  Here are my answers…

Aprons? Yes. I have a blue one with white pinstripes.  I would love to have a collections of aprons, but I do not hav ethe room for them, so just one for me…

Baking-Favorite thing to bake? I love the idea of baking, but am not as fond of the execution.  I can’t say I enjoy it; too messy.  (I love to cook, though).  I am always proud of my accomplishments, though.

Clothesline -Y/N?  No, a dryer will suffice.

Donuts-Ever made them? No, but what a great idea!

Everyday-One homemaking thing you do everyday? Make beds, dishes, almost vacuum everyday, laundry, cook

Freezer-Do you have a separate deep freezer? No.  I want one, though.

Garbage Disposal-Y/N? Nope

Handbook-What is your favorite Homemaking resource? Motivatedmoms.com.  It is the best routine out there for me!

Ironing-Love it or Hate it? What’s that?

Junk Drawer-Where is it? In the living room

Kitchen-Design and decorating? Ecclectic.  The kitchen is painted a chocolate brown color that is the same as the dining room and family room (all tied together).  Oak cabinets, and a mish mash of items to (hopefully) resemble a european country kitchen.

Love-What is your favorite part of homemaking? This is my ministry for my family.

Mop-Y/N? Yes, but it’s one of the Swiffers.  Does that count?

Nylons- Rarely.

Oven-Do you use the window or open it to check? open, open, open

Pizza-What do you put on yours? I love all kinds of pizza and will eat anything.  For the family, we typically order a veggie pizza with chicken.

Quiet-What do you do during the day when you get a quiet moment? Get on to the computer, or read.

Recipe Card Box-Y/N? Yes and No.  I have one, but rarely access it.

Style Of House / What style is your house? Hmm, I guess it is Potter Barn meets Little House on the Prairie?

Tablecloths and napkins- We have two tablecloths that need to be retired soon. I use cloth napkins with guests.

Under the sink – All the basics.  Garbage and cleaning supplies

Vacuum-How many times a week? Almost everyday

Wash – How many loads do you do a week? Between 8-12 a week

X’s-Do you keep a list of things to do and check them off? Absolutely.

Yard-Who does what? I do the container garden, and pick up yard waste.  DH does the mowing and other yard maintenance.

ZZZ-What is your last homemaking task for the day? Dinner dishes in the dishwasher.

My 3rd child saw my mom ironing while he was visiting her and kept asking her what the iron was. I guess he had never seen one in operation ( he was 3 at the time). Not my best homemaking moment, but my mom thought it was hilarious!
