Life
Dentist appointment for both boys. All looking great!
Bible
Children’s Everyday Bible: Adam and Eve were sent out of Eden
Memory Verse
‘A’ Recited Proverbs 4:20. ‘R’ is almost there.
Read Aloud
‘Mary Had a Little Lamb’ rhyme
‘The Little Fat Policeman’
Language Arts
Developing the Early Learner worksheets. Motor: The boys had to follow along a curvy dotted line.
Visual: Memory-I placed four items on the ground (a doll, a paper clip, a pair of scissors, and a box of crayons). The boys looked at them. They closed their eyes and I removed one item. They had to figure out what was missing. Both did very well.
Social Studies
Continued reading about the fictional island of Banilla in "Things People Do."
Reading
Teach your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons– Lesson 3. I decided to not do the writing portion of this. ‘A’ becomes pretty stressed and writing is beyond ‘R’s comprehension at this time, so we will wait. But the verbal part, we will keep.
I might have ‘A’ attempt a Dick and Jane book later today.
Character
We read from 365 Manners Your Kids Should Know. We learned about the formal table setting, and will continue setting the informal table tonight.
We read Right Choices. We learned what it means to steal and that it is wrong. We also read the verse, Exodus 20:15, "You must not steal".
Math
Singapore Earlybird 1A-Lesson 3. I told them the stoy of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" and talked about the difference between big and small (chairs, bowls, beds). The boys had to match lids to their containers (small, medium, big). The boys circled the small animals on the page.
looks like a great day
Hi Leigh,
Your boys are just TOO cute! 🙂
We always skipped the writing portion of 100 EZ Lessons too. I usually start this when my children are 4 and although they're ready to read, they're not necessarily ready to write. It all comes together anyway.
Love, Alyssa
Sounds like a great day! How do your boys like Singapore? Princess loves it — I think it's the "pretty colors" : ) Do you like Developing the Early Learner? It looks great but I thought it was a bit expensive for 4 workbooks!
Blessings!
Debbie
365 Manners Your Kids Should Know…
That sounds like a good book.
I'll have to see if my library has it.
