Children’s Everyday Bible -We read about the woman Rebecca marrying Issac and having twins, Esau and Jacob. We read where Jacob and Rebecca betrayed Isaac and Eau out of Esau’s birthright, and Jacob was sent away. We read about Jacob meeting Rachel and agreeing to work forseven years to marry her. We read that his uncle betrayed him and gave Leah in marriage instead. We read that Jacob worked for antoher seven years for Rachel. We read that Jacob took his family back to his homeland to make thing right with Esau and was reconciled with him. We read about Jacob’s youngest son Joseph and how he favored him with a special coat. How his brothers were jealous and thre him in a pit.

‘Berenstain Bear’s Book of Science’: We learned about how it is wind that makes a kite fly, and for a kite you need: a good frame, a long tail, a bunch of string. You also need to go away from the wind, not with the wind to fly the kite.

Character
365 Manners… We learned about second helpings..It’s OK to have them when:
- you are eating at home
- everyone else has had firsts
- seconds are on the table
- seconds are offered
- at a buffet…take a clean plate
- if you are the host, you offer seconds to your guest first
- if the guest takes seconds, it’s polite for you to also take seconds (even if it is a small amount, so the guest does not have to eat alone.)
Right Choices-We read about how important it is to obey your parents.
