Grandpa Gary and Grandma Julee bought us a butterfly kit. We sent away for the caterpillars and they came in today’s mail. They are to stay in this sterile cup until they create a chrysalis. The stuff at the bottom is their food. If they all survive, there will be eleven. (They are so still at times, I think they are dead!)
‘R’ has named some of them ‘Silver’, ‘Milver’ ,’Milk’ ,’Jason’, ‘Fedder’, and ‘Dedder’. When he said, "Fedder’, to clarify, I asked, "Did you say ‘Feather’?", and he replied, ‘No, ‘FEDDER’" 🙂
Cool! I'll be anxious to see how this goes! I've thought about buying kits like that but was afraid they wouldn't survive here.
R's names for them are totally adorable! 🙂
Love, Alyssa
That is awesome!!!
We did Monarchs last year. But we found ours on the side of the road. I think it was a fascinating study and I'm hoping that we can do it again this year.
