My mom came down for 10 days a couple of weeks ago and was a huge help in packing, and, even better, shopping for new items for the house. We were women on a mission and I am surprised to discover that I did not take a single picture of our time together!! We were still in our apartment at the time, and even though we had access to the new house, we were not sleeping there.
In perfect timing, we were able to have our guest room set up for my aunt and uncle. They were driving from Washington to La Quinta, where they will be ‘winterbirding’ (if this is not a real word, it should be…). We had them for only 24 hours, but we packed alot into that limited time.
They arrived around noon and we drove to Lincoln Sun City for lunch at their Meridians restaurant. I am not so subtly trying to get my mom to move here and wanted to recruit my aunt and uncle in the effort.
My uncle Art and the boys…
silly sillies
We had an awesome server who treated the boys to some soda and he made them extra long straws…
The view behind the restaurant. Now, who WOULDN’T want to live here?
After lunch, we divided and conquered. The girls went to Pottery World, the boys went to Lowe’s. I made a chicken tortilla soup for dinner, and we went to MiaBella Gelato for dessert. The next day, we shopped Antique Trove before Annie and Art headed south. It was a short, but sweet, visit, and I am so happy they were our first official guests!
