Yesterday, it rained all morning. But, it cleared up in the afternoon, and this morning was gorgeous! A perfect day for participating in the 2010 Merrell Down and Dirty Mud Run!
I left the house alone and ran the 5k. This included about seven obstacles and some major hills. I was able to complete all but one of the obstacles, and was able to run the smaller hills, but walked the bigger ones.
Then, David brought the boys a few hours later. They were able to each participate in a run targeting their ages. ‘R’ ran a 100 yard dash, and I was required to run with him. It had three obstacles: crawling under a canopy, crossing a grounded balance beam, climbing over a low fence, and doing the mud crawl…

Happy finishers!
‘A’ did an excellent job, running the whole ONE MILE and did all of his obstacles. He said it was hard, but he stuck with it, and was excited to pass many of the kids who has started in a sprint and burned out. ‘A’ paced himself for a strong finish. He was also excited because this was the first run where he had a timing chip like the big guns!
