“OH how the years go by…”
Just as I feel like I am getting the hang of being the mom to young ones, my young ones grow and aren’t so young! AAAAHHHH! They are going to be pre-teens before I know it, then teens, then <gasp>, adults! I am hyperventilating here! This is happening too fast! My little babe was just a babe, seems like yesterday!!
OK, I have caught my breath, even though it’s only caught in my throat…
Since our precious first born could not wait for his first Christmas and popped out a month early, we have decided to hold off on having a party for him until after the holidays. I joke with hubby that we should have just told him he was born in February. He’d never know!
He started his special day by waking up shortly after 6am. For a child that rarely arises before 8:30am, this was definitely an oddity. He came into our room and said, “is it too early to start my birthday?”
I told ‘A’ he could have anything he wanted for breakfast. He chose eggs, bacon, cinnamon rolls, apple juice, and I surprised him with egg nog.
After breakfast, but before school, (yes, I was a mean mom and had school), we went to pick out cupcakes for dessert later at a terrific cupcake boutique in Rocklin…
Christie stopped by with her two girls and gave ‘A’ some yummy treats. So sweet! The girls made homemade cards. They are precious.
Dinner time and ‘A’ got to choose where to go. He picked Mikunis for sushi!
Our sushi chef, making a custom roll for ‘A’ (eel, cucumber, avocado, fish roe…)
‘A’s custom roll…
Next up…Tako! (Octopus)
The chef made ‘A’ a special extra plate for him. Rice balls in fish roe…
Yum! The Rainbow Roll!
After dinner, ‘A’ got to spin the birthday wheel and won Mochi Ice Cream!
Mochi ice cream. yummy!
‘A’ and the talented sushi chef!
Daddy surprised us all with a trip to see “Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader” in 3D!
After the movie, it was time for cupcakes and presents!
Happy birthday, ‘A’! We love you!
