Hillsong United Lyrics
You’ll Come To Us

I have decided I have resolved
To wait upon you Lord
My rock and redeemer shall not be moved
I’ll wait upon you Lord

Bible verse: Psalm 19:13-14 – “Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me.   Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression.  May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.”

Personal Application: To wait upon the Lord.  To serve Him and His will.  Praying to the Lord to keep from sinning and being ruled by sin.  May my prayers and all my daily words and thoughts go before the Lord for discernment and approval.  May He guide me in what I do and say.  Jesus is my Rock – the solid foundation on which I stand.  Jesus is my Redeemer – the One who delivered me from sin by His blood.

As surely as the sun will rise
You’ll come to us
As certain as the dawn appears

Bible Verse: Hosea 6:3 – “Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him.  As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”

Personal Application: I rest in the knowledge that our Lord is always there in times of good and bad, as surely as the sun rises.  He may appear like the winter rain, a drenching downpour of love, protection, and provision.  He floods my soul and washes away my sin.  He drowns out my pain and sorrow.  He may appear as the warm, gentle spring rain that encourages, inspires, and nourishes the seeds He has planted in my heart.

You’ll come let your glory fall
As you respond to us
Spirit reign flood our hearts
With holy fire again

Bible Verse: 2 Corinthians 3:18 – “And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

Personal Application: Glory defines the character and physical manifestation of God.  The Holy Spirit imparts God’s glory on all believers.  As we learn and grow, the Holy Spirit helps us change to be more like Jesus.

We are not shaken we are not moved
We wait upon you Lord
Our Mighty deliverer my triumph and truth
I’ll wait upon you Lord

Bible Verse: 2 Samuel 22:2-3 – “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;  my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior— from violent people you save me.”

Personal Application: David wrote in this verse that God is his rock, twice.  I think this is significant to be clear on what it is you stand.  God is MY rock; a solid foundation.  God is MY fortress; a safe place, a refuge.  God is MY deliverer; the One who delivers me from anger, frustrations, worries, doubts…

Chains be broken
Lives be healed
Eyes be opened
Christ is revealed

Bible Verse: Psalm 116:16 – “Truly I am your servant, LORD; I serve you just as my mother did; you have freed me from my chains.”

Personal Application: This verse at first seems to be a dichotomy.  Doesn’t the word ‘servant’ depict some form of bondage; and doesn’t ‘bondage’ equal being in chains?  Yet, I gladly serve my Lord, and, in turn, He has freed me from the chains of sin and death.

Psalm 30:1-2 –I will exalt you, LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me.  LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.”

Personal Application: I exalt you, LORD, for lifting me out of the depths and healing my soul of past hurts, regrets, pain, anger, bitterness, fears.  May I never forget or take for granted the blessings you have bestowed upon me.

Psalm 119:18 – “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.”

Personal Application: May this prayer be constant on my lips and in my heart.  May my eyes be opened that I may see wonderful things in your law and that Christ is revealed.
