When my mother in law was a young, married, college graduate in the late 60’s, they lived in San Francisco. Date night every Friday night was in the same booth, with the same server, at the No.9 Fishermen’s Grotto. We decided to go there for lunch and enjoyed the fine service and yummy crab! You could tell this place had a “hay (hey) day”, and that day is over, but the attentive servers still wear suit jackets, and the food was delicious, albeit a bit pricey given the worn and dated interior.
There are two dining rooms; the one upstairs has a better view and a finer dining experience, the downstairs room is more casual. We ate upstairs because it looked like the downstairs was closed.
