Tilden Regional Park

I have a friend who lives in Livermore, about 2 hours south of us.  We decided to meet in Berkeley at the Tilden Regional Park.  They have been there before, but this was a new adventure for us.

As we ascended the road that leads to the park, we were excited to discover these incredible views overlooking San Francisco!

The park has a little steam engine that tracks around a small section of the park.  We took a little ride on the train…

…then had fun standing under it!!

A short drive from the train is a turn-of-the-century merry-go-round.  The pictures do not bring justice to the incredible detail in artistry.  The boys took a couple of rides on it, then we enjoyed a picnic lunch.

Another short drive to an animal petting zoo and the education center (closed)….

My friend brought a fabulous “frisbee horseshoe” game.  The kids enjoyed flinging the horseshoes for distance instead of accuracy…
