My Dad recently emailed me a bunch of cute quotes that kids gave in answer to some questions. I decided to ask these questions to my boys (ages 7 and 9) and see what they said. I interviewed each boy separately.
How do you decide who to marry?
R: You see them, then you have a crush on them, then if you know they are a Christian, that’s how you decide to marry them.
A: You know them for a long time and after you do, you just know. Is this what all the questions are going to be like…Romance?
What is the right age to get married?
R: Like 25 or 20
A: 30
How can a stranger tell if two people are married?
R: They will look at your left hand and see if you have a ring on.
A: Rings…Mom, this is terrible!
What do you think your mom and dad have in common?
R: They each have a Bible and like it. They also have a house together.
A: They are both awesome. They are both really nice, and they are both from Washington.
What do most people do on a date?
R: Go to a fancy dinner, mostly kiss, and then sit by the moon.
A: Eat food.
When is it OK to kiss someone?
R: when you know you are going to get married, go on a date, or if you are married, or at a wedding.
A: I think I’m going to throw up…
Is it better to be single or married?
R: Married, because then you will not be alone, and have someone to talk to.
A: Married, I guess, but I’m single right now and I don’t really care.
How would the world be different if people didn’t get married?
R: Everyone would live alone, be lonely, and not have kids.
A: Everyone would hate each other and the world would be at war.
How would you make a marriage work?
R: Date someone, then propose to them, and never be really angry or treat them badly.
A: Promise you won’t divorce.
