It was a perfect Autumn-Winter day for enjoying an outdoor field trip to a mandarin farm. This family run farm led us through their orchard and taught us how to harvest the mandarins. We all picked a bunch to take home.
After the field trip, a few of us had lunch at Newcastle Produce. Three senior adults came up to us separately and told us what nice, well behaved children we had. The man reminded us to treasure this time. It wasn’t until later that day that we all learned about the shooting at the school in Connecticut. Their interaction with us took on a whole new depth.
