What a blessing to be back on the trail again!! Today, Kendra and I took our boys onto the Lake Clementine Trail. It was a nice, easy hike to get back on track with God’s creation!
The trail begins. In the background is the Foresthill Bridge, California’s tallest bridge, and America’s 4rd tallest. It’s 730 feet high, and had the honor of being the 3rd tallest, until the Mike O’Callaghan – Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge popped up in 2010.
This is a beautiful swimming hole called Clark’s Hole. I look forward to using it when the weather is warmer. I am certain this is a popular spot because it’s not too far off the road. Also, apparently because the river stems from a dammed lake, the water is warmer than rivers coming from the mountains.
This is so funny. ‘R’ found this stick/pod/whatever that looks just like a slug! He brought it home and freaked Daddy out with our new “pet”…
Made it to the dam!
‘A’ found an old wasp nest…
‘A’ decided to crab crawl on the trek back. He put his backpack on his front and made a good stab at it.
‘A’ and ‘J’…boy time…
The only downside was that there was not a decent spot for lunch at the lake. We found a clearing that was ok, but it had a bunch of litter. I typically bring a bag for this, but had forgotten. I look forward to exploring the many trails in this area. It is so close to us, maybe 20 minutes. I bought a “Poppy Pass” that allows parking at California parks, so we don’t have to pay the $10 parking day use fee each time.
