Superbowl Sunday began with a 5K with my boys! It was a great day for a run! The Super Sunday Run had an incentive where if you signed up before a certain deadline, you were able to pick the color shirt you wanted based on your favorite NFL team. Of course, we picked the Seahawks!
The boys and I showed up early and headed back to the car to wait a bit, since it was still chilly. This guy saw my car magnet for the online running club I belong to, Hogwarts Running Club (HRC), and introduced himself. He is in the same club as well. This is an international club, with members all over the world, so it is always a treat when we find each other in real life. Later, we learned that there were others at the same run. We plan to be more proactive in getting together for next year’s run. His friend with him said that they were smack talking our t-shirt choice until he saw my magnet and said, “hey, these are my people!”

Waiting for the run to begin!
Mile one. Looking good!
My friend, Amy, caught up with me and we ran together for a while. I am slightly gleeful that I am running stronger than the boys (finally!). Usually, they go ahead of me, and meet me at the finish. They beat me by 2-3 minutes. This time, they were chasing me! ‘A’ kept saying, “mom, I can’t believe you can do this everyday! My response was, “I can do this BECAUSE I am running everyday!”
Mile 2. Feeling it, but still having fun!
YAY! 5K complete. Time for the tailgate party!
My friend and fellow running club sole sister, Cassie, was there as well, running the 10K.
So grateful to Amy for catching the boys and I crossing the finish line together at a college football stadium! Oddly enough, there was no photographer at the finish line. There typically is at most runs.
