Interview with Our Boys
Name: Alex, age 16
Favorite thing to do? Make movies and play video games and travel. Those are my top three.
Favorite thing to eat? Still 100% sushi. Any form of sushi, sashimi, poke, or raw oysters. That’s where the flavor’s at.
Favorite thing to wear? I like to wear black jeans, black graphic t-shirts and my Jordans.
Favorite thing to read? Right now it’s the DMV driver’s pamphlet. But I like adventure reads like “The Giver” and “Hunger Games”. Harry Potter series.
Favorite thing to watch? YouTube. Good Mythical Morning, especially. On TV, ‘Practical Joker’s and ‘Blacklist’.
Favorite thing to listen to? Heavy metal and the new Post Malone album. Don’t worry mom, I like some Christian songs. And Owl City still, too.
Things I loved about this past year? All the travel I got to do. There was a lot. Learning more about video editing and video making.
Things I am thankful for: Obviously my family and friends. Those are top two. Experiences at church with production team. Great teachers at school. Travel I get to do.
Things I want to do soon: I want to drive. Get a job. Go to the Maldives. Learn the software called ‘Blender’.

Favorite thing to do? Hang out with friends. Like Matthew, Isaiah and Zack, Jeshua and Seth. Friends from Kingdom Builders.
Favorite thing to eat? Caesar Salad. I love the texture. Add steak and it’s the best thing ever.
Favorite thing to wear? Hoodies.
Favorite thing to read? Text messages. I don’t like to read books.
Favorite thing to watch? Stranger Things
Favorite thing to listen to? Day Wave
Things I loved about this past year? All the cool things that are announced like new games, etc. Mt. Hermon was the best this year.. Making great meals in my chef career.
Things I am thankful for: Good family. Good community. Good friends. Food. Water. I’m thankful for everything.
Things I want to do soon: I want to get a job and a driver’s license soon. Getting SAT’s out of the way.

Another Interview Updated from Questions in 2012…
How do you decide who to marry?
R: Judge them completely by their looks…. (no, I’m just kidding!)…their personality. Religion is important, but personality is more important. I would not pass on a person of a different religion if their personality is good.
A: Once the time is right, you date them, but that’s a trial, then after two years, if it feels right, you pop the question, if you don’t you gotta move on.
What is the right age to get married?
R: At least 22
A: Most people would say 18 and up. I do not agree, I would say a few years after you are settled into college. Start looking at 18, but not before. Focus on college first.
How can a stranger tell if two people are married?
R: The rings. If they are clingy to each other. If they have a kids with them.
A: They look at the left hand, that’s how you can tell. The rings.
What do you think your mom and dad have in common?
R: A love for Downton Abbey. A love for their kids. A love for each other. A love for dogs; well, kind of.
A: They are both very nice people. they are both hard workers. They both like to help other people. You guys also have a lot in common, but also not a lot in common. You have different skill sets and mind sets. Embrace each other’s differences.
What do most people do on a date?
R: Try way too hard. They don’t be themselves. Don’t fake it.
A: Depends on how far in you are. If it’s a first date, it’s deciding on whether you are going to go on a second date. First date should always be a dinner where you can talk. Then, the second it can be a movie. Then they could become more casual the deeper you get.
When is it OK to kiss someone?
R: Kisses on the first date are not good. After a few dates; third one at least.
A: Not first date…well…it depends on how well the first date went. Probably second or third. You don’t want to be kissing strangers. You gotta be in it for at least the semi-long run.
Is it better to be single or married?
R: It depends on who you are. Mostly married, but if you are low income, and highly focused on work, then married would not be good. But if you are at a good point in your life, married would be better.
A: Depends on the person. If you are focusing on career and making money, definitely single. Depends on priorities…happiness in family/relationship or success.
How would the world be different if people didn’t get married?
R: Custody of kids would be weird, because there would be a lot of kids running around. There’d be a lot of extra houses.
A: People would not be as happy and would probably be more business minded. You’d either be homeless or a workaholic.
How would you make a marriage work?
R: I don’t think you can make a marriage work. If you are made for each other, it will work itself out. If not, therapy should help.
A: One thing that people do poorly is people don’t talk about issues. It’s not always going to go great, but you should always talk it through. If you don’t talk it through, there would always be a gripe in your life. No resolution.
