I always look forward to the one on one time with each of my boys. I love the conversations we have; sometimes deep, sometimes silly. Always special.
We decided to start our date by going to the Curtis fest in Sacramento where my friend Grace was showing/selling her art. Disappointed to discover we were off by a day. So, we had a little bit of free time before we were to at our event. Drove around a little, then found a place for Ryan’s favorite treat, boba tea!
Drove downtown to find parking and as we were walking to the park that had the event, we discovered a coffee shop that was also a comic book store! Explored that a little and bought some stickers before moving on…
Next stop…the Sacramento Nacho Festival!! We bought tickets ahead of time ($10 per person). This only got us into the festival. We still had to buy food. We were told that there were $3 nacho specials at every vendor, but I only saw them at a few. All the others were these huge plates for $9/$10. Ryan and I bought a few of the smaller offerings and some lemonade. Then we settled down to watch the luchadores/Mexican wresting! We had hoped this would be the main thing we would be watching, but they were having technical issues with the mat and the length of time spent trying to fix it left us with only watching one match. (Ryan got to watch part of a second match while I was in line for beverages).
We decided to head out at explore DOCO. Neither Ryan nor I had been there before. It was the perfect end to the evening. This area is right up Ryan’s alley. Cool, trendy, modern, urban. We walked through some of the shops and just hung out.
