Our summer is here!

Hooray, our summer is here!  What does this mean?  This means that my friend's daughter, who I have taken care of for the past year in the mornings is now a 1st grader!  I am no longer watching her.  I enjoyed our time together, but we always had to have her on the bus by 12:15, and that limited our outings and flexibility.

So, what will our summer look like?  I am training our MOPS Steering Team (praise God, we have 11 leaders!), and we will have a small road trip in early July, traveling to Sandpoint for two nights, then Chelan for two nights, then Leavenworth to camp for two nights.

In late July, I am headed to Pullman for a sorority reunion.  We will be staying in the sorority and sleeping in our old beds!

I am excited to introduce the boys to the rodeo this summer, and maybe even an outdoor concert?!?!

As far as activities for the boys, 'A' is in martial arts every Tuesday, and we have him enrolled in two half-day day camps that will be for two weeks in July.  One theme is “The Magic Schoolbus”(explores the world of science) and the other is “Rescue Heroes”(learning about firemen, policemen, etc.).

We are in the final stretch of the “Before Five in a Row” curriculum.  We have just two books to complete after the one we are currently working on.  After BFIAR, we will begin “Little Hands to Heaven”, which will end around February. I will then use the rest of the Abeka materials I have on hand to finish up spring and summer. I am currently researching the Charlotte Mason approach and plan on incorporating her approach to complement the curriculum we use.   I plan on beginning Sonlight preK in September 2007, when 'A' will be 4, almost 5, and 'R' will be 3.5.
