Focus: The animals get on the boat
Dramatic Play
We pretended to be different animals getting on the boat: elephants, bees, horses, peacocks, kangaroos, etc.
Letter Activity
The boys fingerpainted the letter “B”.
Bible Activity
There is a picture in the boys Bible that has animals boarding the ark.
First, we counted them all (22). 'A' can count to 22, with a little help around 16. 'R' can count to 11.
I then introduced the concept of counting by 2's,
We named the animals. 'A' can name them all. 'R' can name elephant, cow, monkey, giraffe. He needed help with zebra, peacock.
I had 'R' name the colors in english, and 'A' name the colors in spanish (he needed help with naranja, verde, negro. He was able to say azul, blanco, cafe, amarillo)
'R' was able to point out the animals that had spots, but could not pick the ones that had stripes.
'A' could pick out both spots and stripes.
