(We had two little girls, 'A' and 'A' visit our “classroom” today.)

Fingerplay

“Joseph's Brothers”

Bible Story

Bible: Genesis 48:10-16

Children's Bible: Jacob blesses Joseph's sons

Active Exploration

I asked the boys if they have any relaitives that live far away.  “A” immediately said: “Uncle P!”.  When I asked him where he lived, “A” answered, “Hawaii”.  We then talked about where all the granparents live (Seattle, Olympia, Everett, Sagle).

We talke about loved ones who have passed away.  We talked about ” Grandma G”, and looked at her picture.  I told them that she liked to make pancakes and homemade jam, was a terrific dancer, and played games.  She also had a great sense of humor.

Focus: The importance of maintaining memories of loved ones.

Letter Activity

We reviewed the flashcards for 'E'.  Then, the boys were to write out 'E' on their paper.

Bible Activity

I showed the boys the act of a blessing by blessing them.  They kneeled before me, I placed my hands on their heads, and asked for God to bless their lives, thoughts, works, and deeds.  'R' giggled through the whole blessing!

Composer Study

We played Mozart this morning.  We focused on Symphony no. 40 in G minor and  Eine Klein Nachtmusik

Spanish

Reviewed the colors: azul, rojo, amarillo, rosado, mojado, negro, verde

I also spoke in sentences to them in Spanish, so they are familiar with how it sounds.

Social

Playtime with 'A' (1G3) and 'A' (2G1)

Read Aloud

The Tale of Benjamin Rabbit by Beatrix Potter

P.E.

We walked our trail from our home to church.  The boys walked about 2/3 of the way before surrendering to the stroller.  I'd say they walked almost a mile.  DH picked us up, due to flat tires on the stroller.
