Intro:  My name is Leigh.  I am a SAHM of two boys, ages 3 and 2, and married to DH for almost 12 years.  I homeschool, serve as our church’s MOPS Coordinator, and lead a Women’s Bible Study for moms.

I am currently enrolled in a Homeschool qualifying course for the state of Washington.  It has really helped me to understand why I am doing what I am doing, and have the confidence and conviction to continue.

I decided to blog to keep my thoughts organized.  This homeschool world is so diverse that I needed a place to sort and record and figure out what is right for our family.  Also, when I feel discouraged, I like to look back and see how much we have accomplished.

Here is my "Dream House" (more or less)

I love:

Covered porches

Master on main floor (I prefer one level, but I also like the look of dormer windows)

I love the look of cottages and farmhouses

I would love a large rec room that would double as a school room and also have an office for DH

I would like a master suite, a large room for the boys to share, and two guest rooms (one to be for when the boys are older and want their own space)

That house is gorgeous. I think I’d like that one too. I always thought I’d like an upstairs until I lived in one last year. I much prefer my one level, thank you very much. Those stairs about killed me! I’m a ranch girl myself…..I loved your post. It’s nice to learn some things about you…..

    Love, Kathy

I’m also a fan of the covered porch and farmhouse. Are you required to take your homeschool qualifying class or is it an extra?

I was just checking my blog feeds and saw that you are the featured classmate. I wanted to stop by and say hi, so “HI!” I’m curious about this qualifying class you’re taking. Would you post about it sometime?

Lovely dream home! I’m with you – master on the main floor – I’m NOT all about climbing stairs all day long. Yes, do tell about this qualifying class. In AZ, all we do is sign an afidavit stating we’re home educating our children. That’s it. No testing, no qualifying, etc.

Praying the Lord’s blessings in abundance to you!

You are on the right track. So many times we think we’ve done nothing when in reality,. we’ve been moving mountains on a daily basis. You have chosen a beautiful house.

I just wanted to let you know that I am praying for you. You look like you are doing a great job homeschooling your little ones. We are in our tenth year of homeschooling and you will be surprised at how quickly time flies by. Every year is different. Each child is different. Just keep taking those wonderful pictures. They will encourage you when you do have “bad” days. God bless from another classmate in the Blogger Friend School! 🙂

Blogging to remind you just how much schooling you have accomplished. What a good idea. I know I get tunnel vision sometimes and think we haven’t done much but later when I see all they’ve learned I’m encouraged.

You were the very first person to welcome me to the blogosphere; now here we are fellow classmates. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone.

    Have a lovely day.

Just wanted to come by and meet you. I’m new to the Blogger Friend School.

    Your dream house is lovely!

It’s wonderful that you’ve chosen to homeschool. I became a homeschooler when I was pregnant with my first…who is now 16 years old. You’ll never regret it.
