Fingerplay
“What do you know?”
Bible Story
1 Kings 9:1-7
Children's Bible: Solomon praises God with his hands held high
Dramatic Play
We talked about celebrations and how Israel celebrated when God's temple was finished. They sang and dances and played music.
We pulled out some pots and wooden spoons and walked around the house playing our “drums”. Every few seconds, I would stop and say:
“Thank you God for __________”, then one of the boys would respond with something they were thankful for. Here are a few of their items:
Minus and Tigger (stuffed animals)
our house
walkie-talkies
drawers
Here is a picture of the boys marching around. There was a sun-ray coming through the window, and I love the effect it had on this picture! My boys are a pair of angels 🙂
Letter Activity
This is review week. I had 'A' practice writing upper and lower case 'A' and 'B'.
Bible Activity
We made a list of things we were thankful for:
our toys
pets
trees
nice, sunny days to play outside
being home
our family
our church
having food everyday
clothing
We then prayed with our arm raised up in thanks for all of these things.
