Today, I hired a sitter (the best sitter ever…) to watch the boys while I took myself to a matinee and did some Christmas shopping. She was their teacher today. Not only did she teach this lesson, they also baked a cake, and made big, stuffed construction paper star ornaments. She always brings a craft for the boys. Last Sunday, this is what they made. I was only able to make it last about 12 hours, before they insisted on breaking into it!

“Miracles”
Bible Story
1 Kings 18-21-24, 38; 2 Kings 2:1, 11-14
Children’s Bible: God sent fire to the alter and took Elijah to heaven.
Art Activity
The boys created Elijah’s altar with playdough. Miss Laura showed them how to make a pile of rocks and sticks to put on top, with “water” around it, and “flames” on top.
Letter Activity
Miss Laura placed a large letter ‘M’ in red yarn on the floor and had the boys take their stuffed animals and walk around it, saying ‘mmmmm’.
Bible Activity
They acted out the story of Elijah being taken to heaven.
What a great candy train!! I'm so proud of you all, making it last 12 hours – it wouldn't have lasted 2 hours in my house!!
Blessings
