It was a gorgeous day today! We picked up our friends A1(age4), and A2(age2), and met some friends at the river.
After lunch, we had a little homeschool in the backyard:
Bible
‘Children’s everyday Bible’-Joseph was sole to Potiphar. Potiphar’s wife tried to kiss Joseph, bt he rebuked her, so she lied to Potiphar and had him thrown in jail.
Memory Verse
2 Corinthians 9:7 "God loves a cheerful giver."
Read Aloud
Mother Goose- "Dapple Gray"
‘My Little Golden Book about God"
Eric Carle’s ‘Animals Animals’: The Octopus
Language Arts
Developing the Early Learner-
Visual/Memory- I places a ball, block, book, and crayons on the ground. The kids had to look at them, then shut their eyes. I removed an item. They opened their eyes,a nd I picked one child to tell me what was missing.
Auditory/Memory- I gave a command. (Color flower yellow and color flame red, etc.). The kids had to wait one minute befre executing the command. ‘A’ does very well. ‘R’ cannot do this yet.
Character
365 Manners… We learned about when to eat. You begin eating after everyone has been served. Dad sets the precedent by waiting fro mom to begin. If dining as a guest, wait for the hostess to begin, unless she tells everyone to start befroe she does. If courses are being served, wait until everyone has their course.
‘Right Choices’-We read how it is not nice to say mean things to another.
Reading
I have decided to stop with "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons." It is not enjoyable for our family. I will just follow Sonlight’s direction for reading.
Math
Did not do
Then, it was sprinkler time. We had some other friends join in on the fun!
‘A’ and ‘A1’

‘J’ and ‘R’ playing on the bunk bed
Looks like fun!! Next time I come up, I would like to take the kids to the Green River Gorge. Did you see I launched my new blog. I met another nice lady in Enumclaw. I told her to check out your blog. She is at Susie Scribbles.. The link, of course, is on my blog.
