Lesson 6/25/07

Bible
We read the story where God made the bad water good to drink and provided quail and manna for His people, while in the desert.

Memory Verse
"Obey your leaders because they keep watch over you." Hebrews 13:17
I quizzed ‘R’ on his knowledge of previous verses.  With prompting, he was able to compete all of them.  I was not expecting this, and am very pleased.

Read Aloud
Mother Goose- "One Misty, Moisty, Morning"
Tiget Gets Stuck

Language Arts
Developing the Early Learner-I read a sentence and each boy had to pick a picture that fit the best in the sequence.  Both were 100%.

Social Studies
Things People Do- We reviewed the bakery positions

Character
Right Choices-  We read that we will do wrong things and that those wrong things are sin.  We read that through Jesus, our sins can be forgiven.

Life Skills
365 Manners Every Child Should Know- We read about how to eat pasta.  you can either twil with the times of the fork, or cut the pasta into smaller pieces.

Math
Singapore Earlybird 1B-Lesson 2- Today, ‘A’ and ‘R’ had to identify the numbers 1-4.  They had to count items 1-4, follow dot to dot for 1-4, and write the numerals 1-4.  ‘R’ can marginally write the number one, but his motor skills are not there.  ‘A’ did very well with the dot to dot, but had difficulty writing on his own.  He holds the pen correctly.

Reading
I was going to have ‘A’ read from Bob Book Volume 2, but he is struggling a little with this new volume.  So, I am going to let him go back to Volume one and re-do those.  He read Bob Books Volume One, Books 1-3 today.

    Hi,

I saw a post you made on the sonlight forum and decided to check out your link since my daughter is 3 also. I was curious to know how much time you spending (a set schedule/block of time?) homeschooling. I'm a teacher and consider myself a homeschooler during the summer and afterschooler during hte reg. year. We've just started our formal schooling here at home and are using many of the same materials you mention. Feel free to check out our site, they are our "afterschooling" adventures as I have yet to post todays "first run".

    Many blessing, Alycia
