Lesson 6/26/07

Yay, warm weather, finally!  Please, Lord, I beg you, please give us a string of nice days.

Today, our friends ‘A’ and ‘J'(mamabear2003) joined us in the morning/early afternoon.  The kids had fun playing together, then they joined us for our homeschool.  We did our activities outside, under a tree.  Love that!

The boys found a caterpillar outside and wanted to have him "attend" school as well.  You can see him inside the truck. (Our caterpillars are getting huge, BTW.  They grow so fast…)

The boys acting silly.  They were falling back as I took this picture…

‘A’ and ‘J’ love our cat, Chelan, and took every opportunity to pet and cuddle with him; something, fortunately, Chelan loves to do!

Bible
We read where Moses stuck the stone for water and Jethro (Moses FIL) told Moses he needs to create a team of wise counsel to help him solve disputes among the people.

Memory Verse
"Obey your leaders because they keep watch over you." Hebrews 13:17

Read Aloud
Mother Goose- "Hushabye"
"The Golden Sleepy Book"

Language Arts
DEL-
The boys had to draw a line from one item to another without hitting the borders.  All did well.  They also had to pick the set of pictures that were identical.  All did well.

Science
BB- We read about ‘Fall’
Months: October, November, December
It gets colder outside
The days are shorter
Summer plants die
Leaves turn all different colors (red, yellow, orange, brown)

Character
Right Choices- (We are starting this book over, until I find a new character book to use): We read about begin thankful for the food we eat and how we have enough.

Life Skills
365 Manners…We read aobut how to eat corn on the cob.   You hold it with your fingers.  Take some butter and place it on your plate.  Butter a few rows at a time, but not the whole thing at once.  Eat along the rows and the more thorough you are, the cleaner the cob will be.  You can use cob handles to keep fingers from being burned.

During lunch, our other friends, ‘A’ and ‘M’ (you might remember ‘M’…I took care of her last year), came over for a couple of hours.

Little ‘A’ latched on to ‘M’ and would call her ‘mama’.  She followed her everywhere like a little duckling.  ‘M’ is such a good little ‘mama’, and I think she enjoyed the attention!

Having fun!
