Bible
Children’s Everyday Bible-We read how Saul turned away from God and was not a happy man.  David was able to soothe him with his music.  DAvid also wrote songs (called psalms) to God.

‘The Animals of Farmer Jones’

Language Arts
DEL-Comprehension/Association-The boys looked at a drawing of a car.  They looked at individual items (winshield wiper, chair, spedometer, gas pedal, steering wheel, pillow) and had to pick the items that were not a part of a car.  Both boys got all correct.

Art Appreciation
A Child’s Book of Art-We looked at art that had wild animals in it.

The Hare, 1502, Albrecht Durer

*The Tortoise, from a 17th century Turkish manuscript
*Kangaroos, 20th century, detail from an Aboriginal bark painting
*The Raven Addressing the Assembled Animals, 1590, Indian

Life Skills
365 Manners…We read about clapping at the theater or other event.  Do not be the first, or the last, to clap.  Do not wave hands wildly or cups hands to make a loud noise.  A standing ovation is OK if you really appreciated the perfomance.
