DH and I were talking to each other, making plans about something.

‘A’ says: "Mom and Dad, I need you to be quiet.  I am on a very important phone call. (as he plays with the toy cell phone Ama gave him the day before).

Dad says: "Are you talking to the President of the United States?"

‘A’: No; more important than that?"

Dad: "More important than the President?  Are you talking to God?"

‘A": No; more important than that?"

Dad: "Who is more important than God?"

‘A’: "I am talking to Heidi Cogle."

(That’s for you Heidi!  Don’t let it go to your head :))

    That's hysterical!

About Horizons…we are doing Horizons 2. (second half)…it IS advanced. Comparing it to my nephew's public school work, this is about a year and a half ahead. I struggle with it because I dont' think he needs to know certain things just yet, but he gets it. Horizons 1 was great, it was challenging but not overboard. This 2nd grade one, it's challenging but the hard part for us has been the multiplication was introduced right away in 2nd grade. We are hanging in there. I don't like Saxon, Math U See, Right Start, Shiller Math, etc…so I have NO idea what to do? Maybe I'm being too picky. The Horizon's teachers manuals do NOT tell you how to teach concepts to the student. They give you some drills, tell you what your child needs to know by the time the lesson is given, but doesn't tell you how to teach. (not needed for 1st).

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
