Visit with Dakari

I have a friend who I have known and loved since 1987.  We met while working as graveyard waitresses at Shari’s restaurant.  We went to college together and have remained friends ever since.  I was in her wedding and she was in mine.  She and her family moved to Alaska many years ago, but we have been able to remain close all these years.

Dakari recently visited her mom who lives a few hours from me.  She brought her youngest of five children (well, she’s a twin), Rejoice.  It was wonderful to get to meet this precious jewel in person.  She’s a doll!  An added bonus was that I got to see Dakari’s sister, Daphne, and Daphne’s daughter.
Me and Dakari

We had lunch at a Red Robin (always a good call with kids), and decided to walk the Factoria mall.  We stopped in a Petco and looked at all the animals.

I had assumed that since it was a Sunday, the Children’s Museum was closed, but was surprised to find it open!  Since we are members, I discovered that we had two unused guest passes.  So, we ended up spending about two hours playing!

You are never too old to Teeter-Totter…

I had so much fun filming Rejoice.  She was all over the museum and some of my pictures are of where she was one second ago.  It was a delight to see how much she enjoyed the place.

It was wonderful to see my dear friend and although it was too short, it will carry us over until next time.
