Winter cold and rain did not dampen our spirits and enthusiasm for visiting friends and family. Our main intention for this visit was to celebrate my grandfather’s 90th birthday. We decided to come a little early to catch up with family and friends.
On our first day, we had lunch at the downtown Seattle Blue C Sushi. It is one of those sushi places where the plates run along a conveyor belt and you just pull whatever plate you want. We ate, and ate, and ate. The boys were in heaven!
We spent a few nights with Dado and Dada. They treated us to a wonderful Thai dinner, then surprised us with a birthday party for David and ‘R’!
At the Thai restaurant…
This is a pinata. Prizes were tied to a long white string. We all took a string and pulled. We each got whatever prize was attached to the string. Diletante chocolates and foam letters fell as well!
Funny glasses were a part of the fiesta…
Getting ready to pull the string. By the way, this is a brilliant way to do a pinata. There is a false bottom that pulls away with the prizes attached to strings. You can re-use the pinata, and also use it indoors without worrying about anyone damaging the area…
We all decorated balloons with celebration notes to David and ‘R’, using foam letters and shapes that fell from the pinata…
FUNNY< FUNNY!!
Time for balloon stomping madness to music
Ice cream cake for dessert 🙂
