We surprised the boys by taking them to the Cal State Fair. (This in and of itself is not a surprise; Cal State Fair is a client of DH’s and we get passes every year…)
...the big surprise was that we went on an evening that celebrity skateboarder, Tony Hawk, and other pros were putting on an exhibition!
We arrived plenty early so the boys could have front row viewing…

Tony did an amazing show with flips, etc. He ended a little earlier than the rest and we found out later from one of the Fair officials that he was performing with cracked ribs! The boys were thrilled to get to ‘hi-5’ him when he was leaving. i was too far away to catch the shot.
I can’t track down this kid’s name, but he is 15 and an amazing skateboarder. If he hasn’t gone pro yet, it’s just a matter of time…

After the show, ‘A’ said, “mom, this is the best summer ever. I got to see Toby Mac and Tony Hawk all in the same summer!”
