This fun run started off what was one of the most active Sundays in family history.  We joined Shanti and Chris and their five kids, and Elyse and her two kids, for a morning of kid’s runs and then the five miler…

Elyse ran with her little girl in quarter mile, then with her son in the half mile.  Our ‘R’ also ran the half mile, along with 4/5 of Shanti and Chris’s kids.  The chicken gave an incentive that any kid who beat his time would win $100 and a years supply of beef.  No one has beat him yet!

Look who decided to join me for the 5 mile!  ‘A’ did really well on the 5k (3.1 mile) and was pushing to join me for the 5 mile.  He did amazing, ran the whole thing, and I think would have made better time had he been with a stronger runner…

This run is touted as “the most beautiful and challenging five miles you will ever run.”  There is some truth to that.  It is beautiful; running through an amazing neighborhood with gorgeous homes and gardens, then into a large nature park.  It is also challenging, with 4 or five hills to climb…

After the run, we fed the homeless group we take care of once a month, then I went to a birthday party for my friend Bev, THEN we met up with our small group for the rest of the night.  Like I said, active day…
