Every year on Maui, we spend an evening with our friends, Cowboy and Carol. This year, we decided to visit the popular restaurant, Star Noodle. As a fan of the show, ‘Top Chef’, I wanted to visit this place because the executive chef had placed third this last season.
I love that the restaurant is located back up the hill from Lahaina, instead of on Front St. It made for easier parking, and just seemed a little more special to “go our of our way” to eat.
Cowboy, David, and ‘R’…
Amanda and Carol. Two very special ladies…(Carol and Cowboy’s daughter in law…)
The dishes are all served family style and meant to share. Everything was delicious and complemented each other.
The Vietnamese Crepe: w/Shrimp, Pork, Bean Sprouts . Broken up and eaten in a lettuce wrap.
Miso Salmon – Charbroiled with Su-Miso Sauce. Cuties Eric and Crystal getting ready to grub…
Steamed Pork Buns – Pressed Pork, Hoisin, Shiitake, Cucumber. It think these were my favorite. (I ate vegan most of the trip. This was one of the exception meals. :))
The gang’s all here!
Singapore Noodles – Vermicelli, Chicken, Shrimp, Vegetables. DH ended up picking up two extra orders to take home for later.
Pad Thai – Rice Noodle, Chicken, Shrimp, Egg, Peanuts
For dessert: Malasadas – Chocolate and Butterscotch Caramel Sauces, Peanuts. These are like a large doughnut hole.
Silly pictures with the boys and Cowboy showing how much the’ve grown.
