Every year, our homeschool group sings carols at the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. Our family has not had the opportunity until this year to participate. What a blessing for all involved.
The floors of the hospital open to the lobby. The patients stand at the railings and hear us sing without having to leave their floor. As we were singing, ‘Oh, Holy Night’, a grandmother with her granddaughter on the almost top floor, began crying and wiping her eyes. I became emotional witnessing that, and could not sing the rest of the song.
Pres, the coordinator of the event, and Lan, our incredible pianist…
Afterward, a group of us headed toward the cafeteria. My friend, Marisa, got a call from her husband saying he was ten minutes away with enough lunch to feed 25 people. There was a mix up for a luncheon and the receptionist double booked lunches. He asked marisa if our group would like the lunch. We met him at a nearby sculpture park and enjoyed a terrific Boudin lunch!
