Here is an article to bring you up to speed on our current drought situation. This article references a lake that is located close to us.
My friend, Eun, and I, took our kids to visit a part of Folsom Lake that is located on the other side from ours. There used to be town called Mormon Island is now completely submerged under the lake. Well, at least until recently. Ruins from the town are now accessible due to the drought.

We are actually walking on the lake bed. The lake is at 17%. The white items on the right are the floating docks where boats are stored. The boats have been either placed up above, or removed entirely.
The kids came across this item. We aren’t sure, but they want to believe that it is the part of an airplane wing….
One of the ruins of Mormon Island. As people walk around, they discovered old tools, broken ceramics and pottery, etc. They placed these items on top of the walls.
This is actually one of the favorite things I saw. It was a winding road that led into town. You can see the tree stumps that lined each side, equidistant to each other. I can imagine the lovely tree lined road it once was…
