After Filoli, we had a couple hours to kill before our concert. I decided to just get there early and park and then we’d catch up on texts, etc. until we could get in line for the concert. As mentioned in a previous post, we discovered Adobe headquarters. Well, on the same road that the […]

The next morning, after our San Jose afternoon, we slept in and then drove to Filoli and spent about four hours walking the house, gardens, estate trail, gift shop, and cafe. We were welcomed by a doe and her two fawns as we entered the property. On the way out, we saw three adult deer, […]
San Jose Afternoon

After the Winchester Mystery House, I took the boys on an Urban Adventure Quest -San Jose version. It is kind of a scavenger hunt that takes you through town. We have done the Sacramento one and really enjoyed it. This one was a little frustrating. We kept getting challenges/puzzles wrong and for the sake of […]

I took the boys for an overnight trip to the San Jose area. Our first stop was to the Winchester Mystery House. Sarah Winchester, the widow to the man who made Winchester rifles, built a house in San Jose. She was told by a medium that she’d be haunted by the souls of those killed […]

We go to Mt. Hermon Family Camp every year for the past eight(?) years. David stayed home with his mom this year, and I took the boys. The structured activities and speakers were wonderful as always. We also had a fun day in Santa Cruz. Saw the ‘Incredibles 2’ movie, met Toni and Lori for […]
Breakfast with Friends

David’s mom is staying with us while she recovers from shoulder surgery. We realized physical therapy appointments would be easier to attend while staying with us. We went to our friend’s Crystal and Erics house for a waffle breakfast. It had been a while since we’d all been together. It was nice to catch up.
Ashland, OR

Driving home from Washington, we typically spend the night in Eugene, OR. This time, we decided to try some place new. I am so glad we did. I am completely enamored with this town, and can’t wait to return. We stayed at the Ashland Springs Hotel, a historic boutique hotel in downtown Ashland. A beautiful […]
