Paul and Shannon spent a few weeks working their way up from Oakland, with their final destination, Sandpoint. They stopped over and visited with us for a few days. Some of these shots are from their trip. Most are from when they were with us. We enjoyed getting some one on one time in with our niece, ‘M’ <3

The Jetty

There is a jetty a few miles south of our place and we all enjoy hanging out there. Driftwood creates an opportunity for creative building. It’s also a good place for skim boarding, something Alex is learning to do.

Alex and I took Grandma to my favorite crab place, Kelly’s Marina!

Manzanita Sunset

Hug Point w/ Alex

We took Grandpa Randy to Hug Point, but the tide was too far in for us to take him to the waterfall. So, we just walked the other stretch for a little bit instead. Alex wore Grandpa’s backpack to see how it felt.

Graduation Dinner

Since it is still in the time of Covid, and in a weird limbo phase (not lockdown, but not all systems go…), we decided to not do a graduation party, but instead, host a small family dinner. We had the meal catered by Sage Bleu Catering, and decided to surprise the boys with the dinner.

They took my inlaws dog out for a walk and when they returned, the table was set for dinner and the caterers dished up:

CROSTINI
SALAD
THE MAIN EVENT
DESSERT
A FAMILY CELEBRATION!
BABY L AND UNCLE ‘SOUL PATCH’
GRANDMA AND BABY L
My sweet sis in law Sara gave me this ribbon to acknowledge my years as a homeschool mom <3

He Got the Job!

Ryan filling out his first official job application, and he got the job! He will be working over the summer for a local coffee company! This is the place he set his sights on and he got it! We are proud of him and excited for him!

Brag Time

So proud of my sis in law, Sara. She is the senior designer for Ralph Lauren and designed the opening ceremony outfit for this year’s Summer Olympics! (She had designed the last winter one as well…)

This past year she was also busy creating this little precious jewel! I have known Sara since she was a teenager. It’s been lovely to be witness to her grow into the incredible woman she is and knocking out high level accomplishments in her field.

Good Times with Alex

We have a licensed driver! Dad took him out a bunch, preparing him for all the scenarios, and he scored really well. He is very responsible and mature behind the wheel. An excellent defensive driver.

Alex loves movies whereas Ryan prefers TV series. I enjoy watching TV with Ryan, and movies with Alex. this year, Alex and I made a strong effort to watch all the movies that were nominated for the Academy Awards. There were a total of 41 movies and 15 shorts. Due to Covid, none of these were seen in the theater, EXCEPT…on the Friday prior to the awards, a local theater had the 10 or the 15 award shorts (live action and animated) playing. 5 hours of film watching. This was the first time in over a year we were in a theater. They have those comfy lounge chairs and a couple intermissions, so it was easy.

By the time the awards came around, we had watched 25 movies and 10 shorts. It was a great year for quality film. Everything that was nominated was worthy of nomination, in our humble opinion. Too bad they were limited to a small screen, but grateful they exist nonetheless. I popped open a bottle of prosecco and Alex had ginger ale.
