Girls long weekend in Ashland, OR; one of my favorite places, with two of my favorite people.

Trying to capture this weekend in a blog post will be a challenge, but here we go…

  • Tea time at Lithia Springs Resort while waiting to pick up Liann and Lacey at airport
  • Wine tasting of delicious local wines at the resort
  • Amazing dinner at Amuse, recommended by our wine guy
  • Comfy, cozy matching sock slippers from Lacey
  • Yummy breakfasts included at the resort
  • Lovely walk through a downtown Farmer’s and Craft Market, shopping cute boutiques and galleries
  • Walk through part of beautiful Lithia Park
  • Time at the resort’s hot tub and pool
  • Terrific lunch at Pie+Vine. Liann gifted us an insulated wine cup.
  • Drinks at “Ashland’s most Ashlandiest spot” , Oberon’s
  • Night’s at the Ashland Shakespeare Festival! We saw “Hairspray” and Shakespeare’s “As You Like It”. It was magnificent.
  • Time for rest, rejoicing, love, laughs, contentment, friendship.

Day with Cousins

My awesome cousin Katy lives about 1.5 hours from me. We try to get together a couple times a year, but between our busy schedules, it’s sometimes easier said than done.

However, we did recently manage a sweet day trip. Met up at Cosumnes River Preserve.
We walked on their trails a bit, then headed to the Velvet Grill and Creamery for lunch (Galt). I absolutely loved what they did. Food and service were both excellent. We really enjoyed it there and definitely would return.

After lunch, we tracked down the Galt Community Park and let the kids play for about an hour. Then it was time to head home. Precious moments. Precious memories.

All Bayside Service

Our church is a large church in the area. There are eight different campuses throughout the region. Once a year, we close down our campuses to serve the community. the day is called ‘City Serve’. Everyone signs up for a service project. There were over 200 service opportunities. After a weekend of serving, all eight Bayside campuses gathered at Sacramento’s Golden One Arena to worship and celebrate together.

Ryan joined me for the service. Alex was working it as a cameraman on the ground floor, at the base of stage left. Worship was a collaboration of multiple worship leaders throughout the campuses. Our head worship, contemporary Christian artist, Lincoln Brewster, also performed. Special guest star, Brian King Joseph (violin finalist on America’s Got Talent), played as well and did a duet with Lincoln. They also announced that he would be returning for our Christmas services. Lifetime achievement awards were given to Bryce Jessup and Ephraim Williams. The service was a united teaching by multiple Bayside pastors. It was a special event and very powerful to worship under one very large roof with others who call Bayside their home.

Hard Candy

I created this piece for consideration to be placed in an art show through the Arts Council of Placer County. The theme is “Sweet Dreams” and if chosen, the art would be placed in a local yogurt shop from November through February. I just learned that the piece was accepted! 24″x12″

Birthday Club

Precious birthday club with these lovely friends. We started this tradition around eight years ago and gather for each others birthdays. More often than not, we combine a couple birthdays together. This was celebrating Crystal and Shanti. We went to one of our favorite places, Via Roma.

Eun’s son, Jesh, joined us for a few minutes before my husband picked him up to come to our house to hang with the boys. In this photo is Jeshua, sitting at the table, holding Crystal’s baby. The other man is the owner of the restaurant. We adore him. He is always so accommodating and kind.

Gotcha

Made this for my son, Ryan

Postcard for My Art

The Coalition for Place Youth was given special recognition for their hard work by the City of Rocklin. This photo contains Rocklin Mayor Joe Patterson at the City council meeting giving CPY a citation/award/accommodation, something like that.

A quick day trip with two friends visiting from Washington. They were spending a couple nights there and I joined them for a day.

First stop, Inglenook. I love how they placed pumpkins in their fountain. Next stop, Sterling Vineyards. Last stop, a picnic lunch at Bennett Lane. Short, but sweet visit. Until next time, friends!
