Parkour Class
Nov 26th, 2017 by leigharev2
The boys retired from martial arts and moved to parkour. Parkour is defined as the sport of moving along a route, typically in a city, trying to get around or through various obstacles in the quickest and most efficient manner possible, as by jumping, climbing, or running.
Here are a few shots of them doing what they do 🙂
Campelli’s Pizza ‘Friends’ Trivia Night
Nov 26th, 2017 by leigharev2
There is a local family owned pizza place that is beginning to host themed trivia nights. An upcoming night was placed on the my radar through some friend in my run club. Filed it away as something I might consider doing.
Shortly thereafter, I received a text from a homeschool friend (Christie) who had heard about this. She asked me if I wanted to go with her. I said ‘yes’ and that we could join anyone from the run club who decided to go and we could make a team. She then tells me the knows the show well and started to send me some Friends focused texts. I knew nothing that she was talking about.
I decided to go on a Friends binge watch and watch as many shows as possible before the trivia night. I had about two weeks.
We discovered that the interest for this trivia night was insanely high and the pizza place ended up having to sell tickets for the event for $5 (you got a free drink with the ticket). I secured our two spots, but any runner friends were on there own. The night sold out within a couple hours. Â They added a second round that evening. That quickly sold out. Â They added two more rounds on a different night. Those also quickly sold out!
I made it through season 6. Christie and I worked well together. Michelle had never been to a trivia night and had a great time as well. We did not win, but did well.

Apple Hill 2017
Nov 26th, 2017 by leigharev2
Headed for Apple Hill to find our pumpkins for carving. We learned that we were too late for the pumpkin patches! All the farms were stripped! Â We finally found a few at the last farm we went to. Ended up getting a few more from a grocery store. Still, we had a blast! It was a perfect day, weather wise, and we went midweek so it was quiet.
A Looonnnnggg Run 19 Miles
Nov 26th, 2017 by leigharev2
As a part of marathon training, long runs are a must. This was our 19 mile training run. We ran along the American River Parkway. Intervals of 3 minutes run and 1 minute walk. Got it done with these wonderful sole sisters.
Found this baby rattler on the trail. He had already met his demise.Â
Ran into a homeschool friend of mine (Colleen V.) on the trail as well. It was such a nice surprise. I had not seen her in a long time.
We begin our runs before sunrise to beat the bikes and the rest of the crowd. This results in some stunning sunrise shots.
Post run soak in the unheated swimming pool.

Pumpkin Nights
Nov 26th, 2017 by leigharev2
Michelle, the boys, and I went to Pumpkin Nights. This is the firs time this event was in our area. It was located on the Auburn Fairgrounds. This event has about five or six different “worlds” displays that you walk through. Each has a different theme and was decorated with fake carved pumpkin sculptures.
the first world we walked through was a garden display.
Next was ‘Dias de los Muertos.”
This was one of our favorite. A black light “car wash”. They also had one of the Harry Potter movies playing nearby.
I loved this display. It was inside a large shed. It could have been really creepy and spooky, but they played beautiful classical music. Shifted the atmosphere to serene and tranquil.
Entrance to the food court….
This world focused on China, with Chinese lanterns and an incredible dragon. Â My photo does not do it justice.
The last world display was Pirates of the Caribbean and underwater…
We had a terrific time.
Women’s Day Retreat
Nov 20th, 2017 by leigharev2
My friend, Bev, and our women’s retreat team, put on a women’s day retreat at her lovely property. We met in her barn and then had multiple stations throughout the grounds.
We had about 75 women attend. It was a beautiful day.
