We had an early start decorating before Thanksgiving, but this night was the finishing act of putting up the tree and getting the lights up outside.

I decided to go all out with a multi course dinner on our holiday china.

This is a delicious punch, made with apple juice, lemonade, white grape juice, and ginger ale…

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

May the rest of your holiday season be blessed with love, joy, and laughter!

This is one of my favorite places to run. The trail begins near the Flower Farm, a lovely cafe, flower farm, winery, bed and breakfast, property. Running to Avery Pond and back to the Flower Farm is a total of 10 miles. We all enjoy a yummy breakfast after…

The boys and I joined some friends to watch this movie. They had a fun cutout display in the lobby. We played around with it a bit…img_5392 img_5393 img_5395 img_5397

MandaRun 2016

This was half marathon #12 for the year. Misty morning and perfect weather for a race. Our friend Jessica made the announcement that she has another little runner on board!

We started out way too fast and the first three miles had some nasty inclines.

It was pretty humbling. The race was through some beautiful country residential. I lost my phone at a pit stop and had an aid crew take me back and get it. (Fell out of my hydration pack).

Finally finished! This was my second hardest race of the year. First being Clo-Cow. Glad it’s over.

David and the boys surprised me at the finish line. The boys ran me in the last 100 yards. It was sweet!

The boys are making a movie. They needed something to secure their camera for a first person action angle. I am very impressed with their solution of taping the camera to their knit cap!

The Christmas spirit hit our house early! I had the stirring in my heart, but did not say anything. I tend to be a purist about not doing anything before the day after Thanksgiving. But then, the boys both asked if we could decorate early. DH gave no comment, so I took that as a ‘yes’!
We put on Christmas music and drank egg nog and set up the house. The only things missing are exterior decor and the Christmas tree.
The boys are also now listening to Christmas music as they do their chores. Merry Early Christmas everyone!

Mud Factor 5K

A fun day, playing around with obstacle courses and a bunch of mud! I did this with my friend Laurie. It was at a pumpkin patch/corn field in Sacramento. I am proud to say I was able to accomplish all the obstacles!

Mud Factor 5K this also has a fun pro video to see what it’s about.

Yes, you read that right…100 miles!! An amazing collection of athletes running from Folsom to Auburn and back!

Rio del Lago 100 Mile Endurance Run this link contains a neat promotional video of the run.

The boys and I were fortunate to serve at one of the aid stations. We were located at 44.5 miles. The route loops around and our same aid station served runners at 74.7 miles. We helped set up and then assist the front runners. We had to leave as the middle of the pack were coming in.

This was the view the runners had as they were coming into our station…

Our aid station had a Hawaiian theme. Here the boys are relaxing, waiting for runners to come in. They spent their time flipping bottles…

The hydration and fuel tables all prepped and ready to go!

This is the first runner to come in to our station. I am pretty sure he won the whole thing. I can’t confirm that the number/name align. But, I think this is Mark Hammond, 31 years old, from Salt Lake City, Utah. He completed the 100 miles in 15 hours, 33 minutes, 28 seconds. If I did my math right, he clocked an average pace of a 9:33 minute mile!! He also placed second overall for top performers in the race. The best was two minutes less back in 2007.
