A sweet time with family as we gathered to celebrate the union of Paige and Luke. It was held at my brother’s property on a beautiful June afternoon. We got to catch up with aunts, uncles, and cousins. There are a bunch of terrific photos, but these are the only ones I am able to upload at this time. I hope to be able to get others soon. Manzanita Beach to the jetty. The tides were really low and as I turned into Nehalem Bay, I came across a whole pod of harbor seals! It was a treat to see them. A beautiful day!
Christie was one of my first friends that I made upon moving to California. We both belonged to the same homeschool network and her two girls were close in age to my boys. She nicknamed me ‘Loveleigh’ early on and always called me that.
We did many academic and social activities together. So many laughs and tears together. Precious moments and memories. A couple years ago, she moved to Tennessee and started a new life with her family there. Christie passed away in her sleep suddenly, leaving her husband, Scott, and four children. She joins her two sons in heaven.
So.Much.Fun. First week at our timeshare. Our air had us on a long layover in Seattle and a delay made it even longer, getting us to the hotel after midnight. The long day ended with the fantastic surprise of an upgrade to an oceanfront room!
We were excited to have our friends John and Ann on the same property as well as new Oregon friends, Jules and Lisa, also staying at the same property!
Second week was at the place we always stay at in Napili. We hosted a family dinner with my brother in law and his partner’s family. It was wonderful to connect with them all.
We also celebrated our 28th anniversary with an incredible at Merriman’s, as well as a fantastic 20th birthday dinner at Honu for Alex, which included the unexpected surprise of running into Bethany and her new husband on their honeymoon. Alaska cancelled our air for our flight home on Christmas Day, so we ended up staying for a few more days and flew back with Hawaiian instead.
The flu/cold bug hit the house. Poor Ryan had just recovered from the C-bug and was the first to get hit with this. Paul, Shannon, and lil ‘M’ had just recovered from it so we all decided they should come for a few days. No family photos, but some of the cutie.
We watched Encanto and she wanted a skirt like Mirabel.
Kat joined us for a nice morning at Apple Hill. We visited High Hill Ranch, Boeger Winery, El Dorado Orchards, and Delfino Farms. Sadly, we brought home a cold/flu bug that affected Thanksgiving, but we are glad we got it out of the way early in the season.
Ryan has a lovely new girlfriend names Kat. She joined us for dinner one evening and brought this beautiful bouquet of Autumn colored flowers. The sun hitting it the next morning was so pretty. These photos do not do it justice. After a week, I cut the stems down and placed them into a little milk creamer I bought in Kilkenny, Ireland.
Life in transition. The closing of one chapter and the beginning of another. Our homeschool days are over. On to college! Dividing our time between California and Oregon. CALIFOREGON LIVING!
