I signed up for a challenge to run at least one mile a day every day from Thanksgiving to New Years. Then, I signed up for another challenge to run at least 1K during the 12 days of Christmas, but upped the ante to run 5K every day during that time.

Happy to say, I met all those challenges! Here is the medal for one of the challenges…

‘A’ Turns 13!

Breakfast of choice: Cocoa and Fruity Pebbles, mango, and Concord grape juice.IMG_1127

Took the boys and a few friends to the opening weekend of “Star Wars” at Studio Movie Grill. Cupcakes back at home. Tons of fun!

The Monterey Bay Aquarium sets aside about five days a year for homeschoolers. The tickets are free and by reservation. I was unable to get tickets, but a friend gave me hers. Another friend of mine had tickets the same day so we made it a road trip together!

…and we’re off, early morning! Bagels and coffee made for perfect road trip food…IMG_0937

Monterey’s aquarium is amazing! I had a hard time picking which photos to post. This is one of those place where you just have to experience it and photos won’t do it justice.

My awesome friend, Julie, watched the boys for almost an hour while I ran along the coast. Perfect day, perfect view for a run!

‘A’ broke his foot and could not run, but ‘R’ joined in and we had a blast! Ran the 5K together and enjoyed hot cocoa after!

It is always a joy to be able to set aside an evening at Christmas time to worship together with friends and other women. I hosted a table again this year and was able to use my holiday table setting. Musician Laura Story graced us with her beautiful music and voice. Precious friends around the table…lovely.

CIM Relay 2015

This was the third time I have ran in the CIM relay. The other two times were 4-5 years ago. This year, I took the first leg, which meant a very early morning! Had a great time training with our team and I look forward to it again next year!IMG_0834 IMG_0832

Vegas, Baby!

My love had business to tend to in Vegas and invited me to join him! It was my first time, but not my last.  Yes, there’s some unsavory elements, and it can be a bit overwhelming, but there are positive elements too, and I choose to focus on those. We were only there two nights, and we maxed our time exploring.

We stayed at the Paris hotel. The convention hubby had to attend was there, and was perfectly located on the strip. We arrived around 7pm, and after we got settled in our room, we went to find some dinner.  Waled across the street to Bellagio, but ended up walking back to the Paris and had an incredible dinner at Gordon Ramsay Steak restaurant.

The next morning, I got up early and met with Lisa from my running club. She was coincidentally in Vegas with her family. We both had a goal of running 100 miles for the month of November and she was two miles shy of meeting that goal.  We decided to run those two miles together in Vegas!

While David was at the convention, I spent the rest of the day exploring the Strip. Went through many properties. They were all changing from Autumn decor to holiday.

That night, we went to the interactive dinner theatre, Tony and Tina’s Wedding. You are the “guests” at the wedding of two dysfunctional east coast Italian families. It was hilarious!

A nice morning walk with David, and a delicious breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi (also in the Paris hotel), and we headed for home.

I walked through so many properties, I can’t recall where many of these photos were taken.  This was an Asian Noodle restaurant that had rows of goldfish tanks. I was impressed at how clean all the tanks were. A serious filter system. Fish poop, but you did not see any of it.

Our amazing dinner at Gordon Ramsay’s. The photos imported backwards, so you see here, dessert first…

This was a sticky toffee pudding that we shared. You poured a cream over it, and the “butter” was actually an incredible ice cream…
